Workshop on “Income, Employment, and Consumption Dynamics” took place on 30 June and 1st July at CEMFI
2 July 2025
CEMFI, together with Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and Laboratory for Aggregate Economics & Finance (LAEF), organised the workshop “Income, Employment, and Consumption Dynamics”.
Recent research on income dynamics has moved beyond traditional linear models to capture better the complexities of how earnings evolve over the life cycle. This literature highlights non-linearities, heterogeneity, and asymmetries in earnings paths, leveraging rich administrative and panel data. This workshop brought together papers at the frontier of this research agenda, focusing on non-linear dynamics not only in earnings but also in consumption, employment, and beyond.
The program consisted of seven sessions with a total of twelve presentations. You can find the program here.
