Short bio Rafael Repullo is Professor of Economics of the Centre for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI) in Madrid, Spain. He holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE) and has worked in the Department of Economics of the LSE and the Research Department of the Bank of Spain. He is Fellow of the Econometric Society and of the European Economic Association, Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and member of the European Academy and the Spanish Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences. He has been President of the Spanish Economic Association, Executive Vice-President of the Econometric Society, member of the Executive Committee of the European Economic Association, Chair of the Scientific Council of the Toulouse School of Economics, and Co-Editor of the International Journal of Central Banking. In 2010 he received the Rey Jaime I Prize in Economics.
